Lloyd Smale
« on: May 25, 2007, 11:44:29 AM »
Llo_d Sm__e will make you buy guns... with his smoothe technical talk and all that experience... My wife said I cannot be his internet friend no more...
Got me all interested in 45 colt, linebaughs, etc. and throws out the innuendos about other guns, that each have their own allure and special niche in one's life...
He is correct in his observations and assertions, and if you are not careful you will find you seem to agree with all that he says...
to the unitiated :  watch your check book ... or fully embrace the sickness and  let the hair go with the hide..
Now he made me get a linebaugh 45 colt for the unforgettable and irresistable intangible unforgettable feeling imparted when you hold and shoot a gun hand made one at a time....etc etc.
Dog Gone Llo_d Sma>e (name withheld for confidentiality )
To Smale :
I am gonna find you a 223 carbine barrel for a great price and discuss it with you, then you will get yourss ...a taste of your own medicine...
thanks for the advice lloy_ I will need some guidance on that 500 thing you were talking about. And Alan Harton workovers on my old b hawk etc. ... and ... and .. and ..

I know how you feel kennisondan!  A few years ago, before I met Lloyd, I owned one revolver and loaded my ammo on a single stage RCBS press.  Now I'm up to about eight revolvers, loading my ammo with a Dillon, casting my own bullets, sizing them with a star sizer.  Lloyd is a bad influence!!  But I sure am shooting a lot more now.  I guess we can keep him around for a while.

some of you guys have the wrong idea about me. Im far from the shooter and knowlegable loader you take me for. Im sure theres quite a few guys on here that have been doing this longer then i have. Alot of what i know ive picked up on this forum and a few others and the rest of it ill attibute to what ive learned from my best friend Al who has forgot more about guns loading and casting then ill ever know. Theres one thing i truely believe in though and that is that my opinions are based on things ive actually done. If i preach something i learned here froms someone else IVE TRIED IT FIRST! Nothing erks me more then someone quoting some so called expert and i dont care how prominent the expert is. If you try enough stuff yourself you will see that even your heros have weeknesses. The help i try to give is my honest opinions on a subject that ive tried at home. If it doesnt work for you I appologize but I wouldnt have said it if it didnt work for me. As far as my shooting abiliity goes im just an average shooter. I get outshot by many people and that includes some of you i know here (cammel for one) If he in his life had shot as many rounds as i have hed be shooting circles around me. Im not a natural i have to work at even being average. Bottom line is im no differnt then most of you so dont put me on a pedestal that I can fall from. Ive learned as much from some of you as you have learned from me and i thank you for the honor of being called a friend by some of you. Ill take this time too to appologize to some of your wives and to thank God for my women. Im sure that alot of them would like to string me up and id about bet even though she would never say it mine would like to head up the whole linching.

I have learned one thing from experience..blame it on someone else and stick to that... sometimes it is all you got.
I choose to blame Mr. Smale.. I like him right fine .. and he is very helpful...
Hats off to you lloyd and I see you must be feeling like a shiny new penny already..
 or I hope so.
