SIG-MOSQUITO

Anyone get a chance to put a few down range with one of these yet?   They've been out for a while now and I'm sure they're a quality product...how do they shoot?

Chris,

I fired one a few weeks ago at the range. I'm no expert but the gun worked well for the 20 rounds I put through it. I've got big hands and this gun was just that little bit too small for me. The owner asked me what ammo I had before I fired it saying that it didn't like brand X - sorry can't remember which one.

Everyone ought to have at least one son like the one I have. He gave me a green Mosquito for Fathers' Day! I accused him of having an ulterior motive, i.e. buying a Skeeter when his wife would probably veto it. Since I'm in my eighties he will get it back one day not too far away. In the meantime I get to enjoy it.

So far I've only fired a few hundred rounds through it. Bought some Federals a couple of days ago and shot some of them today. The first three or four out of the clip won't completely cycle the action. Have to manually haul the slide back to eject the empty. After the first three or four it works fine for the remainder of the clip.

I don't have the problem with CCI MiniMags. So far these two brands are all I have used in it.

I sure like they way they look and feel, HOWEVER, a gun dealer on another forum said he sold 8 of them and every one had to be sent back to the factory. He called them "crap" and would not recommend them to anyone--yet. Sig will eventually get the bugs worked out of them, or pull them. He said to wait a couple of years to get one, if they are still around.

Thanks for the tip.

I wonder if the guy was selling out of new old stock or something recently manufactured?  Still...eight out of eight doesn't speak highly for a Sig.

I was looking at one at Sportsman's warehouse the other day.It was nice.and I was comparing it to the walther.the clown behind the counter said he has sold a lot of the sig's and almost as many walthers.But the walthers were crap.as the disconector was breaking on them.and they were having to send them back to walther.and so far he has heard nuttin but praise for the sig's.hmmm.

Handled one in the store---was not impressed----at all-----just seemed to me to be a pot metal junker----and the asking price of $400 was really pushing it.

No--I never fired one and probably never will----so I could be wrong-----but my initial impression is that its one of those guns to be avoided.

Hot dog I found one! A 6" model 17 that looks brand new. It cost $400, but it's a real gun (wheelgun!).

I have had mine for going on a year, a little over 2000 rounds fired through it and haven't had a problem with it.
