Trophy size trout
« on: July 17, 2007, 07:30:01 AM »
We recently went to the Smokey Mountain area and did some trout fishing.  My son caught a 19" rainbow and a 21" brook trout.  They weighed about 3-4 lbs each.  Are these trophy size?  Mounting will cost around $175-200 each.  Didn't want to spend the money until we knew if they were trophy size.

Those would be great fish to put on a wall regardless.  Those are good sized fish and nothing to feel nervous about mounting.

I have a 19 and a 21.5 inch rainbow trout mounted together and it is a very good looking mount. I would say they are good size for mounting.

We arrange several trips per year for trout like this.  Maybe arrange isn't the word. We put together trips.  We will be in VA and GA fishing for pigs with a fly.
