How to "trade"?
« on: June 02, 2003, 04:45:43 AM »
I would like to start trading guns so I can try different models. The idea is to start with one gun, fool around with it for a while, then trade it or sell it and buy another one.  How is this best conducted?

It does help. My concept of trading required selling one before buying another.  Pure trading just didn't seem practical.   What's the best way of selling? Putting a gun on consignment until it sells means that I have neither my present gun nor my future gun. I just have money tied up in something I'm not using.

it depends on the gun with me.  a contender i wouldnt have a problem selling in the local paper to someone without knowing them or requiring a background check.   but a gun like the h k i traded to a member on this sight isnt something i would want to put in just anyones hands.   guns like that i usually put up on consignment or trade through an ffl so folks have to undergo the background check.   that way,  i can sleep better at night.   so i would say that you should consider the type of gun; is it a hunting gun or something someone would likely want for something questionable?   i know i could get more through the other way,  but to me the piece of mind is more important.
