.45 ACP handloads
« on: June 04, 2007, 09:11:54 AM »
Could somebody suggest some good plinking/target loads for .45 ACP?  Also, do any of you shoot cast bullets in that caliber?  It seems that would make the .45 an affordable "fun gun".

Lead is all I load in .45ACP. Don't look for load data on forums, it could be dangerous. Go to the powder manufacturer's web site and get all the data you need for free!

I say go for the ubiquitous 200 gr. SWC and Unique, if you have it. Then work up a load.

There are myriad of fast propellants out there that need very small charges for target loads. Lots of folks like Bullseye.
