I was just reading a recent issue of In-Fisherman magazine (which is basically a freshwater fishing magazine for people who like to buy the latest fishing tackle) and there was an article on "crankbaits" (which are a kind of fish-shaped divinig lure used for catching largemouth bass). Different materials for the diving lips were discussed, including Lexan, Polycarbonate, circuit board material, and Micarta. In reality the differences are practically nil to the consumer, but it was interesting to read the different oohs and ahhs about the different materials. One take-away is that Micarta is supposed to deflect more abruptly when it strikes a stump.
Personally, I think Micarta belongs in FA stocks, and that any stump bumping should be done with a .454.
Just thought you'd get a kick out of how another group thinks of it.
