10ga Frame??

Oh well back to the drawing board. You know I saw the 8x64 on the doable list. What about 9.3x64?
 I know probably not. It would be a gem though.

I wouldn't do any rifle barrel on one since the SB2 rifle frame has more meat in the sides of the frame. That and the larger firing pin make the 10ga frame unsuitable for any high pressure round IMO. It may work fine for the smaller rounds, but why do it when rifle frames are easy to come by.

I meant on the sb-2 frame. I definitely wouldn't do anything else on the 10 ga frame. I am still going to pick up a ush. I mean how can I not?

The 9.3x74 should be fine on an SB2 rifle frame, I would have had one done already, but Wayne doesn't do that bore size. I don't know anything about the 8x64.

Hope springs eternal . I really have the bug to go for it in 9.3x74. I was thinking it probably wouldn't be a whole lot harder than your 6.5x55 project.

Depending on the specs of a 25-06 or 280 barrel, it might work for the 9.3x74R, the case head is within .001" of the same. It might have to be an improved version tho to clean up the shoulder. Otherwise, the custom barrel and welded underlug would be the way to go if it works.

It will clean up the 25-06 or the 280  Chamber Quick..2.323"comes out where on the case neck of the 25-06 and up on the shoulder of the 280...

Another approach to the 9.3 caliber  would be one that you can readily make brass for... would be this one.This is one that is on many the different countries approved list for hunting in Africa...so it should work fine here on this continent as well...

Brass can be made for it easily from 35 Whelen or 30-06 cases..While neither cartridge is a barn burner..both would do well on any large critters on this continent..Also..this one is the ballistic twin to the longer rimmed version..Pressures are that of the 30-06 & Whelen..so it is a modern version...where as the 9.3x74R was actually meant for break actions and double rifles..Both would be nice to have...

It really does seem the 9.3x74 would be a natural in the handi.  A guy at work said why not do a 38-72 then you could form brass from 405 win. They actually look pretty similar.I just kind of think the 9.3 is great classic caliber.

If Wayne would do a 9.3 rebore on a 25-06 or 280 barrel, that would be nice, but he doesn't.....yet!! I have an extra 280 barrel that's waiting just in case he decides to make the cutting tool to do the work!!

I just found out Ruger is chambering the #1 in 9.3x74 as of this year. Boy now it is really driving me nuts   What's a guy to do? Work a lot of ot I guess
