Not to beat on a dead horse, but I have to agree with the other guys. I wasn't addicted to smoking, but to chewing/dip/rub...whatever you want to call it. I know you southeastern Ohio boys like to call it rub. They tell me that chewing is even more addictive than smoking, which is neither here nor there, but I quit cold turkey, the last one I had was 13July of last year, and haven't had one since. I had been using it non stop(other than basic, and ait...which would have been a great time to quit) since I was 14. I never really thought that it was that big of a deal till about 6 months or so down the road after quitting, and you are looking at it from the other side of the fence. I have receding gums on a couple of teeth with nerves showing. Need to have a dentist repair them. I have noticed that my teeth are alot whiter now which is nice. Sorry, I'll get off my rant. Tobacco is one of those mental, and oral fixations that never really go away. I strongly believe that if I had a chew today that I would start right back up again, and I've heard alot of former smokers say the same. It's tough, but in the long run its up to you, you have to tell yourself that you want to stop, and then stick to it. For your health, and your bank account...something to think about. And cigarettes aren't getting cheaper by any means. You can buy alot of new rifles with the money you save. My wife quit smoking Jan. of last year, and we made a deal that the money we spent on tobacco, we could get back at the end of the year to use one whatever we wanted...which amounts to a fair amount($1200 or a bit more for a can a day chewer/smoker).

Oh yeah...never got to see my grandpas, they both died before I was born. Smoking helped them to a shorter life.
