Trigger switch ?
« on: June 01, 2007, 03:16:29 AM »
Have a Stevens 200 in 223 which is of course not accutrigger, also just swapped for an older Savage 16 that has the pre-lawyer fully adjustable trigger.Before I screw anything up can anyone advise me if the Savage trigger will fit the Stevens ?

While I have never done that switch, I think they are an exact match. I have used Rifle Basix triggers for Savage 200's that said they were for preaccutrigger Savages. I have 2 200's that I have made the trigger switch on. One of the best things I have done for my Stevens, and I have modified them extensively.

Oops, I meant Stevens 200, not Savage 200 ::)

Thanks 222, maybe a pat on the back is enough to get me to try this weekend. Couple of e-clips and I should be able to tell if it'll work.

Mission accomplished, a breeze to do. Exact match just as 222 said, Stevens now has 1.5 lb pull. Probably have to increase it a dab when coyote huntin starts but for now on the bench it is such an improvement for load testing and paper punchin. By the way, I had worked on the trigger before switching and the 16 now has about a 2.5 lb pull with no creep. I'm happy---thanks

You are welcome. While I like to get a gun I am satisfied with right out of the box, I have found it is rare. This is PARTIALLY due to me buying "cheap" guns to start with. It does give me an excuse to tinker with them. I have tinkered with more expensive guns too. I must like doing that ::)
