ssk scope mount ?

Does anyone here have a ssk scope mount on a super Redhawk? Email ssk waiting to hear if it can be installed. Had problems with ruger rings loosing up, At 25 yard with open sight great shooting at 50 no way . ThanksD

I have NEVER had screws to loosen on a handgun mount (rings or base)  except when I had a moment of stupidity and did not loctite some on a Freedom Arms 44 Mag once but it was due to my ignorance not the mounts fault.

I'M NOT STUPID OR IGNORANT AS YOU WOULD SAY. I HAVE LOCTITE THOSE SOB'S BEFORE & THEY STILL CAME LOOSE.

I NEVER had any scope mount screws come loose after being treated with Loctite until I started shooting an Encore in 500 S&W Mag.  The barrel is now at SSK Industries getting a 4 ring T'SOB 6 screw base installed.

I have a TSOB mount on my FA83 .454 Casull and has never moved from day 1 (3 years and 400-425 rounds ) all Hornady  and Buffalo Bore factory ammo.

Not sure about the Ruger, but I'm sure SSK knows what they're doing when designing their mounts to specific models.  Give SSK a call, they will help you make it right.

Jack Weigand makes a mount for the SRH that allows you to use any Weaver Style ring.  I have one on a .44 Magnum and one on a .480 Ruger, and have had no problems with them shooting loose.  The nice thing about these mounts is that you have a certain amount of windage adjustment in the base. These are available direct from Weigand, or through Brownells.  No drilling or tapping required.  Although you do have to remove the rear sight on the .454 and .480. ;D

I tried a scope on my Redhawk using the Ruger supplied rings and no matter how snug the rings were they still had become loose in a matter of a few shots. I tightened them enough that they marred the barrel finish and left permanent marks and still they ended up loose. I gave up on them.
I have a SSK T'SOB on my 29-4 S&W and it stays put.

I have SSK's TSOB on a 45/70 Contender and they have never moved from day 1. I also have Leupold rings on a Dan Wesson 445 Supermag that hasn't shifted either. I honed the rings with a Brownell's ring lap and marked the halves with a punch in case I had to take it apart again.
