Is it a step up or not?

I am currently shooting a PSE Nova (2003 Model) with a Copper John's Dead Nuts sight, Whisker Biscuit rest, low light peep sight and I just put a new string on it last season.  I have been thinking of upgrading to a new bow such as a Bear Element or a Diamond Rapture.  I am looking at keeping my accessories so I am only going to need the new bow.  I plan on staying in the $250-$300 price range.  My question is how much of a step up, if at all, would either of these bows be.  I shoot my Nova with no problems and I am very accurate with it but I am in that got to get something new mode.  I guess the bottom line is, I really just want some input on whether or not I would be gaining anything from these two particular bows or anythingthing else in that price range.  Thanks.

P.S. If it makes any difference I hunt in the Midwest for whitetail from treestands.

I shoot a PSE Nova.  In my experience the PSE line gives you a bow is way better than what we are paying for them.  But then, the overriding rule is:  shoot it; if you like it and it fits you, get it.  Hope this helps... 8)

Why not try something different like a recurve or longbow. I did, and now love the simplicity of no sights and shooting of the shelf.

After 3 different PSE bows and 5 sets of limbs, I went to Mathews.

I went to a matthews from a pse as well. Though it is out of the price range you mentioned. I'm not sure about the performance of the other bows you mentioned, if you just want something different, check them both out if you can and decide which one fits you better, but if you want to really upgrade save some more and look at some higher end bows.

Maybe they will even let you shoot a dayton or matthews or a higher end pse and see if you think it would be worth saving for.

If you own a PSE Nova then there is only one way to go..... UP! All kidding aside, it is a bottom of the line model with the slowest speed, KE levels and performance. It IS indeed time for you to upgrade, especially if you are going to approach the sport seriously! You could give yourself so much more of an advantage with a quality rig. Best of luck to ya bud?
