About 1986, I bought an AMT 10mm Magnum from a young airman that was being shipped overseas and could not take the gun with him. I gave $300. for the gun, custom made holster, cleaning kit, reloading dies, a hundred rounds of loaded ammo, and 200 empty cases along with powder, primers and bullets. I fired about 40-50 rounds through the gun, I was really impressed with the accuracy, and seemingly mild recoil.
A "gentlemen" came along who wanted the gun, he offered up a Winchester, Model 97, about 98% along with some cash, so we traded. I got a very fine specimen of the Model 97, but I kinda wish I had hung on to the AMT.
