New H&R owner
« on: February 24, 2011, 05:14:36 AM »
I just bought an H&R 204 and will shoot it for first time today.  I have been shooting and reloading for a while and liked the idea of a 204 and couldn't resist the price of an H&R.

Thanks for the replies.

I took it to the range and it did ok, but not great.  It seems to prefer the Sierra 39 grain over the 32 grain by Hornady.  I bedded the rifle and will get to range with it again next week.

The first trip had a best of 2.6" at 200 yards, I had hoped for <2.5 so not bad especially since the day was a little windy and with my 223 I didn't shoot well so the combination of me and weather might have had a bad impact.

I need to work on trigger mine it terrible I would guess ~6 lbs and several times it had me thinking the Safety was on.  I get Gall bladder removed Thursday so won't be able to go to the range for a while but hoping to make by next Wednesday
