Partialy, yes   ;D

I have heard of a guy here in the state who doled out the extra money for the state issued gold packer logo personalized plates to read..."VIKES"

Some dude in Minn is probably posting that, similar to this thread...grin

Say now, that's a mighty fine personalized Illinois plate.

The owner of the vehicle is probably a transplant from Wisconsin.

I know that if I ever moved to a different State, my allegiance to the Packers would never change. However, I'll bet I wouldn't be the only one in the room wearing a Packer jersey since the Packers really are America's team.

The guy from Wisconsin who has the "Viqueen" plates is committing blasphemy. ;)

OK Casull, how far you want to go back? How bout to 1995?

Since 1995, the Packers have had 6 divisional championships, 2 NFC Championships, 2 Superbowls, with 1 win.

The Bears have had 3 divisional championships, 1 NFC Championship, 1 Superbowl where they lost.

Peterbilt, I guess you didn't mean to include the last three seasons in those 15 years you spoke of.  Last 3 years, the Bears have won 4 out of 6 against the Packers.  And of course, no one can forget that over the life of the rivalry, the Bears have the winning record over the Packers (84-78-6).  Anyway, you're right it's all good.  Heck, even my brother-in-law is a Packer's fan.  But, of course he was born in Wisconsin and doesn't know any better.   ;D

You can go anywhere and see Packer fans and Packer stuff.  It's not real unusual.
What is unusual is to see guys wearing Viking stuff in WI !!??  It doesn't matter your age, where you were born, where you live, you just know that's wrong!  I guess times are changing, there used to be a time when perversion like that was kept in the closet!

What would you Wis-ies do if they took away your Packers, beer and deer season?  I bet the suicide rate would go through the roof.  Of course you could all move down south with me and become FIBs. ;D

Casull,

I agree too, It's all good.

No matter which team has the better record, I simply can't wait for the Packer/Bear games each season. I think it's still the best rivalry in the NFL. If it makes you feel better, I even cheer for the Bears when the Packers are eliminated from the playoffs. Well, that is if the Bears have made the playoffs in the first place.

TribReady,

+1 on that awful perversion!

I have a friend that is a total "queen" fan. Has the audacity to come to our in-house Packer tail gate parties dressed up in his "queen" hat and jersey.  We make him sit across the room from us during the game. ;D

SDS-GEN,

Please Sir, don't even talk like that! There wouldn't be any reason to live anymore. ;D

Peterbilt,

Oh that is one sweet picture. Nearly brings tears to my eyes to think how we in Wisconsin have been blessed with the greatest team that ever set cleats on natural turf. ;)

Yes, Wisconsin really is God's Country and his Son wears #4 on his Jersey.  ;D

Wow Brett favre is the second coming? I think if he were the son of god he wouldn't throw so many interceptions. Of course he's probably just trying to make things look fair. ;D

On a serious note.  Some of you folks in Wisconsin do take your football just an eentsy little bit too far.  A friend of mine moved to Wassau about 10 years back.  One day on the morning radio show a woman called in and questioned the DJ.  "What's the big deal with the Packers?  I don't see what all the hype is about, its just a football team."

Several people called the radio station wanting to beat this gal up, many called in screaming in anger about what she said.  She never said anything bad about the Packers, she just didn't understand the fanaticism that many Wisconsinites showed for their team.  Its a sad thing to see someone get so worked up over a game that makes no real difference to anyone in the world except the millionaire players.

I guess ya would have to be a Packer fan to understand SDS it mostly boils down to the fact that the Packers have such a storied history much more so than any other team plus the fact that the Packers is the only team in football that the fans own the franchise.  That means a lot to the fans in this state. They also take a lot of pride that many good players want the chance to play for the Packers because of that history and all the aura that goes with it. Plus they know that Packer fans are the most devoted in football. One of the big jokes you hear about the Vikings is that the fans have so many broken legs from falling off the band wagon all the time. LOL or something like that. Speaking of the Queens I am a Packer fan that will never change and Bud Grant who was one hell of a coach for the Queens is a personal friend of mine I have known him since I was a kid and he was friends with my Dad amd Mom. Still my brother and I never changed teams we stayed Packer Backers. Of course every family has a black sheep mom rooted for the Vikings so we had some one to razz. LOL

There simpley is no other experience to compare with tailgating outside Lambeau field at 7 am on a Sunday morning with a bloody mary or a beer (or both LOL) in one hand and a brat in the other. The colder it is outside, the better. By the time you roll into the stadium, you are in the most proper state of mind you'll be in durring the whole week LOL. After the game, you are hoarse for a few days from all the screaming and cheering. After the game you go home and watch the game again, because you obviously were smart enough to set the VCR.

Green package games are far funner than Gold package games.

I was at a bears/packers game a couple of years ago and there was a 30 year old guy screaming at a 10 year old kid for wearing a packers coat at soldiier field. My friend almost got in a fight with him. (he beat me to it) There is fanaticism on both sides of the field and she's right it's just a game. I don't understand either how grown men can get so worked up over a game.

I am not really into football but being from Chicago I'm a bears fan and have friends that are packers fans and vikings fans. We are always throwing jabs at each other, a little lighthearted ribbing it's fun but some people get downright violent and that I don't understand.

Well Grim and SDS, I agree with you.

It's just a game and no one should ever become violent over it. That's taking it way too far.

And believe me, if I see a Packer fan becoming violent over a bad call or becoming vigilant because someone is wearing a different team's apparel, I will not be proud of their actions and I will be the first person to tell them to SHUT THE @#$% UP and mind their manners.

I say if you want to cheer for the other team, then bring your apparel, heck, bring your team's mascot and show up in force because it is only going to make the game that much better - win or lose.

Being a Packer fan, I have basked in the glory of the Championship seasons, but I also have learned how to lose like a man during the years (and there has been many) when the Pack has not been at their best.

I love our Packers, but we would be nothing if we didn't have fine teams like the Bears, Lions, and Vikings in which to do battle.
