A .270 question...
« on: June 18, 2007, 12:07:58 PM »
Okay, last Friday I got the urge for a new (to me anyway) rifle.  Called my favorite gun guy, and he had a used NEF .270 that needed a new home.  I bought it, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.  Which factory rounds seems to be giving the best results?  I know this question probably has been asked a gazillion times, but I couldn't find the answer after hunting for it over the weekend.

Thanks.

I have the best results with Remington 130g. Core lock Ultra's or just plain 130g. Core locks.  In factory ammo, they shoot better (tighter groups) than any of the premium ammo.  Let us know when you get it out to the range and how it does.

I also find that the (Green Box) Core lock 130 gr. shoot as good as any in factory ammo in my .270.

I have found my .270 Handi shoots best with Winchester Power Point 130's.   I have fired the Core Locts and they produced groups more than sufficient for deer, but not as well as the Winchesters.    :)

Thanks everybody.  I plan on getting to Gander Mountain tomorrow, and hopefully will shoot this weekend.  I'll give a report when I finish.

Mine likes everything i have fed it, from 90's to 150's, All tight enough groups to make you smile, but the 130's are prob the tightest, Power points and Core Locks. ~Ace~
