neat Pull through

When I ordered a book for my Romanian 69 by Paul Liska he sent a cool home made pull through for cleaning with the order. This is neat and works great expeccially if you just want to run a patch through the bore at the range and do not want to carry a rod. All he did was take a length of the finer Nylon string like off of a weed wacker ( trimmer string) The stuff he used is dark blue and measures 1/16. Cut a length as long as you want and heat one end till it melts into a ball. Let that cool and snip the other end with a diagonal cut. This gives you a ball on one end to catch and hold the patch and the cut on the other end is sharp enough to poke through the patch and then you can run it down to the ball end and instant pull through. The trimmer string is stiff enough that it pushes down the bore easy and being all nylon is safe to use. I thought it was a nifty idea. Does not take the place of a good rod but does make a good patch puller when a rod is not handy. The nylon string coils up nice as it keeps its shape off of the roll and is easy to store also, coil up and just pop in a small zip lock bag. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
