Marlin 336 219 Zipper project
« on: June 22, 2007, 04:06:09 PM »
I wondered if you guys might be able to help me. I have had a rifle visualized for along time. That being a Marlin 336 in .219 Zipper. I am finally going to get the ball rolling on this. But I hit a road block in the road on my project. I have been trying to find a 26" stainless barrel blank in 22 caliber for it. I contacted ER Shaw about it but they don't make barrels for lever guns. It would have to be turned. Does anyone know where I might find a barrel that is the correct contour for a lever gun? Mostly to keep from having to spend the extra money to have it turned.
The gun when finished will be a blued action, SS barrel and SS magazine tube (buttoned down to the forearm) and a black Synthetic stock.
Thanks!! ;D

Maybe I was dreaming, but I saw a factory Marlin 336 chambered in .219 Zipper at a gun show a few years ago. Maybe there are barrels ready-made available at Marlin or Gun Parts Corporation. You might check Davidsons. They order a lot of special-run Marlins and might know something about this.
