The "tragedy" of Paris Hilton...

    Now that little Miss Piglet may have to serve a full 40 ..or 30..or 25 the celebrity chasers start moaning about "how unfair" it is !
   I admit to not being familiar with California law..but when someone is picked for drunk driving, gets a pass..then laughs at the court and goes back to drunk driving..without a license; I'm surprised that a 45 day sentence was all she got !

  I see the pics of her bawling about a stay for a few days in a quiet room and doing a few tasks...

  Then I reflect;..this woman is 26 years old, she can act the perfect fool and flaunt the law...then go " Waaaaaghh " when she has a 40 day hitch to complete..

   There are 26 year old women in Iraq & Afghanistan who, right at this moment are daily facing much worse that a 40 day stint at the twin Towers in LA, and they serve much more than 40 days...they are not boo-hooing like Paris did..

  The real tragedy of Paris Hilton is that she had parents that doted upon her every whim and let her act them out...the real tragedy is that they did not let her experience the normal joys as well as the normal  disapointments of life ..

  Right now, the real tragedy is that her parents are not saying " Kid; you got into the trouble by acting the fool...now, EARN your way back into respectable society" !

   That goes for daughters also...shame on such neglectful parents !  Most of the anguish she is experiencing now has been brought on by indulgent, enabling parents.

IRONGLOW, Dang it, ya got me crying again for that poor spoiled brat. I'm sure she'd be welcomed in gen pop. The General who stepped down for telling the truth that adultery and homosexuality were immoral and a sin got 15 seconds news time. The spoiled brat got HOURS. My 14 year old daughter cheered as they announced that she was going back to the pokey.  It was a proud moment for me as she commented, "she made her bed..." even though it was just my wife and I watching along with her.  Mrs. Hilton commented it was in God's hands prior to going into the court house - I'm guessing she feels betrayed. 

Our local news station gave a 10 second blurb about the whole thing.  Then they got viewer hate mail because they didn't offer more coverage on it - goes to show the mentality of our country.  Definitely more important things we need to concern ourselves with in this world.  Although a little brain candy never hurt anyone!

I have to agree with you on this. She was never disciplined as a child and thought you could do whatever you wanted because mommy and daddums would bail you out. Children need to know there are consequences to their actions good or bad.

I've spanked my children on occasion, not something I enjoyed but it needed to be done. Now according to the liberals and psychologists I've permanently damaged their self esteem. Well believe it or not, after a scolding they will still kiss me goodnight and tell me they love me.

I feel sorry for a 9 year old brat who doesn't know any better because their parents haven't taught them any better. I do not feel sorry for a 26 year old brat, because by now she has picked up on what'S right and what's wrong. As far as her statement of; It's in God's hands now. How would she know? I haven't seen any Godly acts coming from that little tramp.
Now days they say; She's HOT! When I was growing up they would have said; She's CHEAP AND EASY! jmo

Well SHOOTALL unholywood is what it is. After thinking about the topic and title of this tread a while, I don't believe this is as much a "TRAGEDY" though in many ways I suppose it would have to be, as much as a show of "DECADENCE". Good is bad, and bad is good.
Morallity is immoral, and immoral becomes moral. A Romans Chapter 1 view so to speak.

Very frankly, i could care less what Ms Hilton does or does not do.  i do think it is totally unfair that she got caught in a power play between the sheriff and the judge.  Face it, folks, if it were an illegal alien who done the same thing she did the guy would have spent one night in jail and the Mexican Illegal Alien Defense Fund would have flown to the rescue claiming police discrimination.

I hope the judge turns out in the end to be the hero.  If his firm hand turns out to be what turns this girls life around, then good on him.

I know a little girl, who was a real party girl when she was about the same age as Ms. Hilton and she got in a bit of trouble with the law too.  Her folks didn't bail her out; they made her face it on her own.  Today at the age of 40, this wonderful girl is a world class mom and a very successful business woman and I am so proud that she is my daughter.  And no, it didn't take that long for her to get turned around.  The little brush with the law started the process, but when she became a mom, she became a whole different person.

For Ms. Hilton's sake, I hope she finds whatever it takes to change her life.

The Hilton's, Kennedy's, O'Donnel's, DuPont's and a whole bunch more. They know right from wrong, they just don't think it applies to them! Their elitist's, they don't think that the law is for them. Their above that. Their special. Everybody else is second class. Look at the 2 boys a few years ago that killed their parents. Spoiled rich kids. Sad part is, it's not just confined to New York or L.A. It's taking place all over. Parents too busy with making money, their own social life. I remember reading an article on Charlton Heston. Had his family on a fishing trip, and one of his kids spilled a drink or something of the like on the boat. The first mate went to clean it up, he told him, don't you dare. My kid made it, he can clean it up. I can respect that, bring your children up with the attitude of respect for other people, their possession's, the laws. Problem is, it's happening less and less. God works in mysterious ways.  He may need Paris to do his work.  This was a traumatic experience for Paris and maybe, just maybe, the light came to live in her heart.

We can all only hope..........after all.......Hope is one of the greatest of all things........

The fact that she mentioned God brings Hope. 

This judge may be wise as Solomon, and this might be the best thing anyone has ever done for her.

Had she been exposed to her great grandfather Conrad Hilton, perhaps she would be different.  Like many who made it big, he started very humble by purchasing the old Mobley hotel in the little town of Cisco, Texas.

Not only Paris, but a lot of kids who have grown up with a silver spoon in their mouth, had no responsibility growing up, and given everything they ever wanted, have no values, or respect for the law or society in general.

There is a tendency among American to try to provide better for their children that they themselves had, this is the product of that psychology.  Think about that the next time your child ask for something they have not earned.

Poor little misunderstood Paris.  It's estimated that between royalties from her forth coming book about her "harrowing prison term", all 24 days of it, to moneys from doing the talk show circuit Paris could score 2 and a quarter million dollars or more.  That works out to almost $94k a day.   I think I could stand at least a couple of months in solitary for that kind of bread don't you?
