45 Colt conversion
« on: June 25, 2007, 12:53:03 AM »
Would it be difficult or dangerous to convert the BC 45 Colt barrel to 454 Casull?  Seems it would be an easy conversion.  I have a 454 SRH, and it would be nice to have a matching carbine.  I know I can just get a 45/70 barrel, or load Ruger hot 45 colt, but . . . one set of dies, one set of components, one bag-o-bullets at the range, etc.

Welcome aboard!! The Casull would be a good conversion for the 45 Colt BC, thought about it myself, so I asked my gunsmith about it, not a  problem. ;)

Tim,

Thanks for the input.  I have my eye on a BC 45 at a local gunshop.  Would probably shoot it 45 colt for a while, then make the change.  By the way, what good 45 colt loads do you shoot in the BC?  I just ordered a bunch of 250 gr lead bullets.
