Need a NM meat processor reccomendation
« on: December 03, 2007, 03:15:06 PM »
Hey Folks
Assuming I am successful on my upcoming elk hunt, can anyone recommend a meat processor between Dulce and Albuquerque, NM?  Albuquerque or Santa Fe works best for me as I am out of state and need the airport access.

Thanks

Rich

Sorry, I haven't used a processor in that area.   Its not too hard to do it yourself.  My cooler is a frige in the garage. it will hold 4 elk quarters.  For years I used a hand grinder but after shoulder problems I now use a Cabela's 1/4  horse elect grinder to make my burger.  It takes me about  a day to cut, grind, and wrap an elk but I have the satisfaction of doing it myself and I know the meat has been kept clean.   My concern comes from my days as a meat inspector.   Maybe someone will chime in from that area. Good luck on your hunt.
