Spent the day at John Browning's house
« on: June 24, 2007, 02:31:28 PM »
It was kind of neat to step back in time and visit this place just how it was back in the 1800's.

And to go into his shop and see how he forged barrels and did rifleing.

One wonders what Nauvoo Illinois would be like today if in 1844 Joseph Smith and his brother weren't assassinated and the Mormons were forced to evacuate the city in 1846.

After a hundred years, Browning's 1911 remains one of the most popular pistols made.  What a forward thinking man.......sound like a great way to spend an afternoon.

 Right VC..

..And how about the m2 .50 cal MG...still one of the decisive weapons, even on the "high tech" battlefields of the 21st century..

I'd love to see rifling cut into a bbl, I just can't envision the precision involved. POWDERMAN.  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
