Most widely available calibers

What are the top 5-10 most widely available calibers in Alaska?  I'm talking about if you lost your ammo in transit to Alaska.  I'm assuming 30-06, 300 WM, 338 WM, 45-70, maybe others.

Depends on where in Alaska you are. In Anchorage or Fairbanks you can find most anything you want. In the bush probably 223, 243, 30/30, & 30/06 maybe some others. Byron

My experience is .338 WM, .375 H&H, .300 WM, 30-06, 7MM Mag, and 45-70.  In that order.  The short mags and ultra mags are getting populer, but still got a long way to go to catch the ones listed.  That's what I'm seeing in the field and on the range. 

The 7MM Mag is populer with Sheep hunters, the .223 is also populer in the villages.

Most village trading post, and rural stores carry these ammos.

30-06, 300WM, 338WM, 375HH, 45-70, 458WM, 12 gauge slugs (though there arent that many slug hunters, mostly used for protection, but widely available)

When it comes to guns and hunting don't think of Alaska as the barren wilderness.  People up here shoot a lot, so there is a lot of ammo availability.  Where else can you buy handguns in walmart?  (and k-mart, and fred meyers, etc)  Lots of gun shops, many hardware stores carry ammo, pawn shops, everybody.

308, 270,  7.62X39 ammo is usually abundant as well.  I'd say 30-06 and 30-30,  44 mag is highly abundant nearly everywhere though I don't know what all the 30-30 ammo is used for.  .223 is abundant - mini 14s are popular in the bush.  Some places 300 and 7mm Weatherby ammo (usually Rem brand) is not too hard to find.  In places like my town of Dillingham where a lot of hunters pass through on the way to the back country, you'd be surprised at the variety.  There might be only one box but it might keep a person in the hunt.  For a while we had a store that even had a couple boxes of 256 Win on the shelf - but it closed. Some guys in the know, usually check these outposts for older odd ball ammo.  I know one guy bought a half case of 30-40 Krag for a song that way.

Most bush towns supply what the towns needs are.  I first lived in Elim Alaska. To my surprise on the shelf in the store was .35 Whelen.  My main gun.  As the others have stated already, pretty much covers it.
