HI ! We just got back from RSA with a hunt I booked with JJ, He had us hooked up with Pieter Kriel, he was the best guide,PH, Historian, I've ever met. He could name every bird, animal, tree, bush, we came upond. We chose to do a three day tour of Kruger Park and then go to the hunting lodge. I would recomend this to anybody for their first hunt. It gives you a chance to get use to the time change, and to get use to spoting game animals in their natural habitat, It is not like what you see in the movies!
Here is a few pic. in Kruger Park. first a dugga boy, then a elephant, and last a spotted Hyena.
The hunt was great! I bagged my Kudu with a off hand shot, had to follow up with an othe shot after a short tracking. It was shot with a 300 Ultra mag. with 180 Barnes tripple shock, no bullet recovered.
The next animal I took was a Impala, but I proud of this shot it was at 350 meters with a rest, one shot put him down! using the 300 Ultra Mag. with a 6x18 Sheppard scope.
The other two were taken with a 35 Whelan they were a Wildebeest (wife shot for me , not feeling good) and a Blesbok. I recovered one bullet from the Blesbok it entered the right rear flank and was laying under the skin of the left front shoulder . I was useing 200 grain Barnes triple shock with the 35 Whelan. I weighed the bullet and it was still 200 grains!
Pic. of the racks
enough for now, thanks Jim for the great time we had.
