formula 1
« on: June 28, 2007, 07:38:17 AM »
I have a five gallon bucket of green latex paint. Should I dilute it as a trap dip? I figure formula 1 is some king of latex paint. This is for water traps. I bought some coni's with speed dip and the stuff keeps coming off on my hands and everything so I want to use something else.

I dip all my water 1.5's and(all) conies in latex paint or solid stain. Thin 2-1/3-1 with water.

IF-------------------------------------------------------------------FORMULA ONE--------- was latex paint.                   How could it sell for $12.95 a Quart ? Would'nt everybody just go to a paint store and buy a $3.00 can of latex paint ?

F-1  will last ALOT longer than paint or stain! MUCH LONGER!!!!!!!

So Newt....................What IS F-1?  LOL!   I have an idea, but they don't sell it at the hardware store. LOL!

GOOD STUFF!  I'm just too darn cheap. Plus, as a painting  contractor, I always have tons of extra paint.

Newt, think I saw you demo in PA recently. I'm sure your product is much more than my thrift store paint, but, that's what I have now for my trapline on a shoestring. I tried it today and it didn't cover well, so, I  will have to touch up the rust spots with a rustoleum spray. In the future I will give your product a try.

Newt..................Asa already HAS told me what's in his lures!LOL!

rat boy..........F-1 is well worth the extra$$$$$$$$$$. Plus, it will save you re-dipping in mid-season.  I re-dip several times a season. BUT,I have an ENDLESS supply of FREE paint and way too much time on my haves.

Hands.
Plus, it's EXPENSIVE (high end) paint. The cheap stuff won't last a week.

Packer
Don't be so dang cheap LOL take them traps out and get them powder coated FCOL. Then ya got your self some true yuppy traps. I do have to say though I have a bunch of 160s that are dipped in F1. Now I don't trap as hard as most guy my coon line is usually 10 days sun up to sundown. Then the 160s are mostly parked and I move on to other critters. But most of them 160s have only needed a touch up in the last 4 years. I've got 1 1/2s some dipped in F1 some speed dip and some dye waxed. I find it depend most what type ground their set in how much they get polished by a critter. They all can get buffed nice and shinny by a coon in sandy ground.

Newt.........2 part epoxy is nasty stuff. I used to paint shower stalls with it. I don't get near that stuff anymore.

Mac..........I'll stick with dipping. That powder coating is not my style. LOL!
