Who shoots an Encore with the thumbhole stock???

How do you like the thumbhole stock compared to the regular buttstock?  Yeah, I thought that I'd cured myself of "encore-itis" but obviously I haven't......   I guess the best way to cure an Encore hang-over is with the hair of the dog that bit me, right?   :D

FWIW, I shot thirty 270gr rounds thru my 375H&H from the bench last week with the Prohunter t-hole stock, of course I have 4½lbs of lead shot in the stock to tame recoil ;D, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all, from all I've read of others on the t-hole TC stock and other t-hole stocks, since the trigger hand and arm becomes part of the weight of the rifle, t-holes are great at recoil reduction.

I find my synthetic t-hole not as secure or rigid compared to the reg. stock. It seems to bend from side to side even when  tightened up with the bolt?

Maybe the interior of your stock is damaged??  I checked one out today at a store, felt great in the hands and very comfortable in the firing position.  BUT, with my small hands, I couldn't easily cock the hammer unless I completely removed my hand from the grip....  I'll have to think about it some more.

I recently purchased an Encore Pro Hunter in SS with the Realtree thumbhole stock and it's the best feelling rifle I've ever owned! I can't wait to get into the deer woods this Fall! It's a bit thicker in the palm area that my Omega thumbhole but I like the overall feel of the gun better in my hands. Best of luck to ya with your new rifle

I've been using my Pro Hunter thumb hoke stock on my Encore with 243, 260, 25-06 and 280 barrels. Works great, recoil is less 4 sure re. Just put on my BP Encore barrel to sight it in for the coming deer season.
