Trolling Motors

I recently bought a new boat, a sun dolphin pro 120. It has a spot to mount a trolling motor on the bow but the problem is that its designed for a mount the same as transom mount trolling motors. I have searched high and low and can't find anything that will work. I need a trolling motor for the bow that mounts like a transom mount, any ideas?

For my son's boat, we fabricated a mount base from a 1/4 inch piece of alum.  The base was designed to bolt on the transom style mount and then have the mount from the trowling motor bolt directlt to it.  The metal was cut and then taken to a welder to be assembled.  Look at yours and see if you can come up with a design.

I guess the people at bass pro shops are more/less idiots. I asked them if there was a way to use a transom mount motor on the bow since it would be facing backwards. Sat on hold for three minutes to get a "no".

Picked up a motor guide 54lb thrust here locally and was just going to mount it on the back but decided to unscrew the top and have a look-see. All you have to do is unbolt the shaft from the top (steering) unit, turn it 180 degrees and bolt it back in. Presto, a transom mount turned bow mount trolling motor. Bass Pro shops lost a sale cause of Unknowledgeable staff.

Gotta wonder where these people have been! Hand controlled trolling motors have been used on bow mounts -----forever!!
