1894 marlin (micro grove) 44 mag accuracy
« on: July 25, 2007, 06:11:34 AM »
Hi guys   just like to mention that I have found the reason my 44 marlin lever gun was not accurate. I tryed many loads in this rifle using jacketed and lead bullets. Yes the gun would shoot hot loads with jacketed bullets . however it would not shoot light loads for lever action pistol cartridge when i sluged the barrel I found the micro grove barrel to be over sized. I called penn bullets and tryed there 240 grain TC @.432 DIA. with 8gr of unique it now shoots sweet I also use fed 155 large pistol mag primers. I hope tis works for you   anthony g
