Front Sight changes for HP
« on: July 18, 2007, 10:27:09 AM »
If I am shooting a S&W 586, can I put front sights on it that came from a different 586?  S&W had a lot of different sight options that are better than what I have.  I have a orange insert ramp and I don't like it.

Thanks,

Crabo

As long as the sight is a catalog item, that fits your gun without modification, it is legal.  You can get patridge style front sights for Rugers.  They came stock on Mark II target models.  They fit nicely on single sixes and Superblackhawks with the screw on front sight.  Same same for your S&W.  If you can buy it over the counter and it fits without modification, you can use it.
