38 Super Load
« on: July 21, 2007, 02:44:10 AM »
Has anyone worked up a 38 Super Load for Lyman's 147 grain 356637 bullet.  It's a relatively new bullet design, and it's not referenced in Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook.

I haven't shot that bullet but I would use Lymans load data for the 150 gn roundnose.  You can use Unique if you like, 5 - 6.2 gns for 1005 - 1183'/sec.  Mikey.

Thanks Mikey,

I had seen the loads for the 150 grain Round nose, and lacking any new information, that was going to be my starting point.   On the Lyman website, it says that the 356637 was developed for IPSC, so I was hoping that maybe some IPSC or IDPA shooters had developed some IPSC Major Loads or some IDPA loads meeting the 125000 power factor with this bullet.   It looks like I'll have to get out my Ransom Rest and Crony and go to work.
