I'm not familiar with that terminology. What is a "locker pin"?

If you are referring to an over size hinge pin we've had that discussion LOTS of times on here and the general concessus seems to be they do more harm than good.

I think he is referring to the hinge pin made with shoulders that attach with cap screws.  They are sold by telling people that factory pins move when shooting causing the point of impact to change.

I have never needed one, so my opinion is not useful here.  Perhaps someone who has one can help.

Were you having problems with accuracy?

sorry people in not being more specific the locker pin has two end plates one side accepting a screw to tighten it down with the wrench supplied,it is supposed to stop the pin from shifting in the receiver during firing to improve accuracy, just got it have not yet tried it,the encore already shoots better than i can, just lookin for a better mouse trap i guess

A black powder web site a couple years ago blasted the Encore when they said the hinge pin worked loose from one side of the frame while testing and the POI changed.  They recommended taping in the pin with metal adhesive tape.  The only way I can see this happening is if they were shooting without the forend installed.  Another newbie a couple of years ago bought in to the notion that factory G2s lost their poi if barrels were changed because of differing torque on the forend screws, so he modified his forend by sawing off the side pieces prior to ever shooting it, then taped in the pin.  A captive pin like this would have helped him, and saved him money on tape.  It would have saved even more if he had shot his new gun prior to changing the way it was made.

I think the advantage is.... you don't have to remove the forearm to change barrels.  I had considered tapping a hole in the end of my pins and leaving the ears off my custom forearms, for that reason.  It seems I have to rezero my scope every time I remove the forearm (and washers) to swap barrels.

May be an Encore thing, but I switch barrels all the time on my Contenders (original and G2) and have never lost zero.  I see no reason a properly installed scope would cause a loss of zero, but I don't know everything.

Altho I've stopped using TCs now I did use them for many years and changed barrels on them both original Contender, G2 and Encore and never noticed a problem with point of impact shift that was of consequence. In my silhouette competition days I used the same frame and switched barrels between matches and just went right on knocking the targets down with the changed barrel same as before.
