dale...it seamed you liked your 204 & was working for your purpose's...i have had to sell rifle's in the past due to finance's...so i understand...if you had the intention of predator hunting i would suggest the 22/250...until you reload..the guy's who reload over at p.m.com. are reporting good success with the 204 using 35 grain berger's...so i would say get a 204 again.. if it ain't broke don't fix it...your gonna wind up with a 250 somewhere along the line...aye...

Yea guys I think I have made my mind up. I will be buying another 204 Fluted soon. Like it was said it did work well for me and if it ain't broke don't fix it. Besides I have the 243   24'' bull set up now and can't to wait go shoot it this weekend.        Dale

Good to hear that your going to stay with the Ruger .204. Like others have said you have had pretty good success with it. I shot the 22-250 for alot of years until I gave it to my son. There's no question about it being a real powerhouse with a great slection of bullets to choose from.Like Tim said get both, a little later on then you get to have more choices to choose from. You know I shoot the regular HB Ruger .204 and last week I went ahead and done the trigger job on it and got it down to 3 lbs. I am going to get the dies and some Reloader 10x and H322 powder to go with my IMR 4198. Going to try some Sierra 32 and 39 Blzk bullets and ccci 450 primers.
Your 243 should be a fine choice for long range past 300 yards. I have a 25-06 that works great for me on the long range shots and a good deer rifle to boot.Good luck and good hunting.    Jack

Dale get both shoot a life time and let us know what you like !
I would hate to choose , both are good guns , the only thing we have shot with the .204 that didn't drop or explode graveyard dead was a turkey , it ran about 10 yards ( with head going in opposite direction ). Its like buying a truck with a short bed or long bed , they look alot alike , do alot of the same things , but one has a bit more usefulness sometimes !
but only sometimes , how often would you shoot pass the capabilities of a .204 ? any ?
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
