Any Info about the 725 Rem?
« on: July 20, 2007, 04:45:08 AM »
Hi All,

I have just been reading a book about hunting with sporting rifles in Great Britain which was written in the early 1960's and found within it's pages was a photograph of a Remington 725. Now it's not a detailed photo but I did notice that the safety looks like that used on the US Model of 1917 and the Remington model 30 which of course was based on the 1917 action.

Is the model 725 based upon the model 1917?

And what is it with Remington numbering system? It has me totally confused.

Transition rifle - 721's and 722's  then 725 on the way to becoming Remington 700's. When you see one most will be 06's or 270's.

I'd love to have a 725 in 280 Remington. Classic! ;D
