Practice makes perfect.Dipping is like anything else--the more you do--the better you get.
You saw many of the traps we use--all were dipped and had many catches.
On new traps--all the greases and oils must be removed.You must also check to make sure your dip is not to thick.I do one or two to make sure they dry quickly and my mixture is the way I want it.You can dip them a second time ,after the first coat is dry, but then you must scrape dogs and pan notches.
I single dip,and if the dip gets worn off---I am making significant catches
