Iron Sights for Ruger Rifles

Can Iron Sights be installed on Ruger stainless steel rifle barrels?  Their new rifles do not come with sights and I like sights as a back up.  I don't mind if the sights are blue steel.  Do you know of anyone in the southeast who can do this?  If not, do you know if Ruger can do it for you?

Any local smith should be able to drill and tap the barrel to mount sights. Check the local gun shops(yellow pages?) and ask them if they can direct you or ask at the local pawn shops. They often are in need of a smith and generally have 1 or 2 they use for repair work..
