Breaking in a rifle barrel

I have cleaned the daylights out of the Steven's model 200 rifle that I bought.

Weather permitting , i will shoot tomorrrow after i am done teaching.

Savage has a barrel break - in procedure listed on their web site. I will do it tomorrow .

Any suggestions? or is this necessary?

I polish mine, before I put the first bullet done the bore. I think it smooths it up a little more making it copper foul less. After giving it a good polishing, I just shoot it as normal. If I find it still copper fouls quickly, I polish it again. I keep this up until it does not copper foul any more. It has worked good for me.;)
