marlin mod. 3081 limted add.
« on: July 28, 2007, 06:15:40 AM »
hi folks, this is my first post on this forum ,and i wanted to ask y'all what i really have . the barrel is marked marlin model 3081 limited addition. the stock has a cheap looking disk with the Alamo on it . there is also checkering on the forearm and pistol grip but it also has a deer head and oak leaves. i have seen this type of stock on some glenfield 30-30's at gun shows so i don't know if it is considered a glenfield or marlin?
the stock looks really cheap, can ya get up graded wood for this gun?
  thanks in advance

No, just the right person hasn't come along with the right answer. I personally don't know the answer. Folks get discouraged when a question sits a while. I understand, but you are also looking for an answer, most folks don't have all the answers.

For a more specific forum, you might try Marlinowners.com. They have a collectors section as well as a 336 section, surely those guys know. Heck, there's even a few Marlin employees there, Tomray is one, he may be able to tell you what you need to know.
