Open action wobble question.
« on: August 15, 2011, 06:23:43 AM »
Met another Handi shooter at the range yesterday.  He had a .308 bought used; barrel/frame numbers matched; NV serial.  It shot OK, locked up tight with to light gap, but wobbled when open.  Never had this problem.  What do I tell him about fixing this?

As long as it locks up tight, I don't think it needs fixing.

I agree that a loose barrel when open is a little unsettling. It gives me the feeling of being cheap...but I also think that if it locks up tight, Handi rifles shoot better when the barrel is loose when open. As long as it is shooting good, do not do any thing to it. You will get used to it as long as it shoots good.

Good Luck and Good Shooting
