What is it and whats its worth? Thanks...









Lockplate says:

"Savage RFA Co"
You can make out some of an Eagle with "U.S." under it and the date 1863...

Joe, Its a Model 1861 Springfield pattern rifle musket. Should be .58 caliber.She's in tough shape but Savage in Middletown Conn.( not  the same Savage arms of the later 1800's or today) was not a major producer.In that shape she's probably worth $6-700.00.Most likely saw some mischeif in Lincoln's war...
