was wondering about these guns have a chance to buy one in 7mm08 for 300 bucks has a scope on it looks in real good shape have they been having problems with them or anything i should look for thank you

I would say a good deal depending on the type of scope, mounts, rings and the overall condition.  If it has middle of the road scope set up, I would feel happier if it were closer to $250.   Used Savage 110's and 111's can be found in the mid $200's just about anywhere, with and without scopes. 

Around my area new 200's can be found for $279.  With hunting season around the corner, gun shops will be gearing up for their annual sales.  I've seen the Stevens go on sale as low as $259 during this time.  Wal Mart lists the 200 at $289.

I enjoy my Stevens.  It's a .243.  It shoots well enough with factory loads, that I don't plan to reload for it anytime soon.  I've not had any problems with it.  Same goes with my Savage 110 .30-06.

Don't be put off if it has rough corners on the checkering, that's typical of the 200.

I have a Stevens 200 in .308. I load the Nosler BT 150 grain over 46 grains of Varget, seat the bullet 20 thousands off the lands and it will print a 1.5" group at 100 yards. That's with the 6.5lb factory trigger. I may lighten it up...I dunno. I like it heavy for the cold hunting days...and with a group like that...it's sub-deer-MOA. I have a Nikon Buckmaster scope on it. The 2?-14X I believe. Nice glass, holds it's zero.

Nice part of the Stevens is, they are so ugly, you don't miind spittin your tobacco on 'em, gettin mud on 'em, or scratchin 'em on anything metal. But, they do shoot like they are on a lazer, and they are inexpensive (yeah....cheap).

Bud's gun shop (on line) has them on sale for $244,,I'm going to buy a couple of them for that price!!
