Yamaha Kodiak electrical problem

A friend has a problem with his Kodiak 450, seems a ground wire got hot and melted, seems odd a grd wire would get that hot. Anybody have any ideas?

sounds like he has to many accessories on the thing or the battery terminals are sulfated.
