6.8 Remington
« on: August 10, 2007, 04:20:34 PM »
Just got a 15" 6.8 barrel from Ed's TC for my Encore. A very nice round. Had a blast shooting water filled gallon milk jugs at 100 yards with a cheap BSA red dot. Mild recoil. Think I'll get a 6.8 upper for my AR 15 now............

I have an AR with a 6.8 upper and i just love it.  My only problem is that I don't get to shoot it enough.

I have both an AR15 in 6.8 and a contender 14" in 6.8 just put a 4X scope on the contender and with handloads it will shoot 5 shot groups at just over 1" at 100yrds.
MY 16" barreled AR15 is my favorite coyote gun.
If you reload H322 seems to be the powder of choice.

6.8 AR makes a fine rifle for roe deer, fox and eliminating small pigs.  Here in Germany, you can't shoot a sow unless you first shoot any "frischlings" or young pigs.  The little ones make for quick, small targets and the ability to get three really quickly is handy at times.  German hunters look at you funny when you pull out an AR but if you can shoot it, they tend to overlook.
