Loading Data - Please be careful with what you post...
« on: August 13, 2007, 03:54:51 PM »
As I was reading some of the posts here in the reloading section I came across a statement from an individual that HS-6 was the same as Winchester 231.

This is a very wrong and misleading statement....

Per Hodgdons Web Site

HS-6™  HS-6 is a fine spherical propellant that has wide application in pistol and shotshell. In pistol, 9mm, 38 Super, 40 S&W and 10mm Auto are some of the cartridges where HS-6 provides top performance. In shotshell HS-6 yields excellent heavy field loadings in 10 ga., 12 ga., 20 ga., and even the efficient and effective 28 ga. HS-6 is truly an outstanding spherical propellant. HS-6 is identical to Winchester's discontinued 540. Available in 1 lb. & 8 lb. containers.   NOT  Winchester 231!

We have some fantastic data and loads posted here, but...  Always check and verify what you read.

Be careful out there....

Be careful also with what you READ in any forum.  They don't call it the "Great Disinformation Highway" for naught.

I know that on a couple of posts, I just tell whoever, what loading manual, and what page they can find a certain load/combo. I realize that they might not have that certain book, but with the 'puter, with a little work, you can find just about anything. Might save on any errors due to typing or bifocals not being adjusted right. (I always thought people who wore bifocals were old! Now that I wear them, people who do, don't look so old) -gypsyman
