K31 sporter stock
« on: August 08, 2008, 05:52:15 PM »
The stock comb was too low for scope use and the built up comb didn't feel right so I made my own.  I had a piece of wild cherry and this is what turned out. Its a little heavy but I don't plan to carry it much.     I can still put the action back in the birch stock and it will be original again.   I swapped the scope on my 2 k31s and decided the birch was slightly more accurate. (in the original stocks)   I haven't got to shoot with the sporter stock yet.

james - that is a fabulous piece of work.  Are you a stock maker?????  I have never heard of a sporter stock for a K31.  Excellent.  Mikey.

WOW, that is one fantastic looking stock.

I have built some shelves and such...but that is fantastic looking.  I saw this website once that showed a cut-down military stock.  I will look for link.

Congrats on the DIY job.  That really is great.

Thanks for the compliments guys.  I've only made a few stocks because I just use hand tools and it takes so much time.   It got too hot this summer to do much outside so I put a window a/c in the garage and buillt a couple of stocks in my spare time.   It's really not feasible to use my labor intensive methods but it beats watching TV, (especially on election year).
