I've always used the 180 grn. SP Core-Lokts with great success. This year I'll sight in with 150 / 165 grn. PSP Core-Lokts and go with whichever groups best.

For whatever reason, I started out shooting 165gr Rem core lokts in my '06 for deer and never changed.  I tried other 165gr bullets but none did as well as those old clunkers.  The others were sleek and shiny with boat tails and such while the core lokts looked pretty stodgy by comparison.  But the core lokts were more accurate in my rifle and they never failed to fetch what I sent them after so I stayed with them.  My old '06 is pushing 50 and it has only had 165's and 200's (when I went elk hunting) shot thru it.

The cheap 150 or 165 grain Remington Core-Locs work perfectly.  I've had real bad luck with the so called "premium" bullets.

My 30-06 likes the 165 grain Corelokts also, loaded on top of 57.5 grains of AA4350 its a real tackdriver and is one of the backup loads I use the rifle most with. But I like a lot of 180 grain bullets like the Speer Mag Tips especially.
