got it tonite it is a colt government model series 70 good condition except for a little holster wear i gave $500 for it i guess it was a good price cause i saw a mint condition 70 series for $950 and another for $800. any thought it does have a different trigger,2 magazines,and he gave me the original parts to along with holster and a magazine holder to.

was unable to go shooting yesterday might try and get to range on wensday evening to do some shooting i am sure it will be more accurate than i am need to practice and this will be good gun to practice with

I say you did well. I bought the same some 25+ years ago for a similar price new. I have had it throated, trigger work, and the ejection port relieved. I did have some combat sights on it also. It is truelly a gun to keep.

I do beleive it will be staying around for a very long time. This one was made in 78.
