Liberal With The Baking Soda

Was at the feed mill getting some molasses for bear baiting. I also picked up a 50lb bag of Sodium Bicarbonate. The lady that took my money said I understand the molasses, but whats with the bicarb??? Do the bears get gas?
I then said "Well it's baking soda right?" The lady said "Yep I guess so"
I then explained that I was a trapper and used it quit liberally while doing so to reduce odor.
I carry a 5 gallon bucket with baking soda in it to put skunk hides while on the trap line. I use baking soda and dish liquid to wash the bed of the truck out. I sweep it in with saw dust on the garage floor when skinning. I also use it in the laundry to wash hunting and trapping clothes. Couple inches in the bottom of a big coffee can is a good place to store lure bottles.There is some in my trapping freezer.
I guess I got her thinking because she said she had never thought of it like that.
All I know is the 50lb bag was I about $12.00 I don't know that I would use it to bake a cake, is not labeled food grade. I haven't checked to see what that much soda would cost at the grocery store. I do know that I didn't worry about putting a 1/2 inch layer of it on the old truck floor. When it dried I vacuumed the soda out. It helped remove the swamp smell from the truck after the son used it to drive through the recent flooding.
 So how many others of you have a big bag of soda stashed in the garage??

 Mark, great idea.Seems like everything involved in our endeavors is odiferous.
Alas the only soda I have stashed anywhere is---- PEPSI.

Mac i use it all the time  and buy it in big bags at Sams Club.   But its food grade.. i will have to check the  mill and see if they have it there.  I use it for everything, cooking, baking, cleaning, deordorizing , ect...

Not that big.  Like Rdfx, I buy big, 10 lb bags from Sam's.
