Which bullet would open faster on deer, with the same type of hit?  The remington 35 cal 200 gr. soft point, NOT the round nose, or the hornady 200 gr spire point.  Shot from a 358 win.

At the same range using the same bullet the .358 would as it drives the bullet faster.  But your talking about two different bullets.  One is made to open up at slower velocities than the other.  So I would say the .35 Remington would as it is a deer designed and the .358 bullets are usually designed for larger heavier game and may not open on the thin skinned lighter boned deer. 
If you have one of each.  Go soak old phone books in water, line them up to the thickness of a deer and shoot them with a paper target  2 feet behind them.  The bigger hole in the paper target behind the phone books will tell you.
Wood clamps work well to hold the phone books together.  You will also need two sets as the first shot will ruin any future tests on those books.

I shoot the Hornady's over H4895 in mine and they are awesome.  I stared to get the Rem PSPCL 200's, but chose the Hornady.  I read some mixed reviews of the Remington bullets, some said fast expansion, some perfect, some no expansion.   Here is a thread I started on another board before I found this one:  http://www.shootersforum.com/showthread.htm?t=41916

Thank you for replies.  I have used 3031 in my M70 358, with the Hornady 200 gr. spire pt.  It is used to hunt small eastern whitetails.  It has worked well but might be better if it opened up easier.  Have not used the Remington bullet.

I have only used one hornady bullet on deer -but have used a number of the Remington 200s  -- I have had one hit with a Remington that was lost/// found but not by me --shot was at  245-250 long steps and was rested and looked good - she ran75? and fell over-- I do not know if the bullet under expanded and drilled through or over expanded and stopped -- either case no sign of a hit except I knew I had hit her--last time I checked the Hornady was thicker in the jacket than was the 200 Remington-- the Remington was .024and grooved and the Hornady was .032 and also grooved -- the Hornady has more jacket per bullet than does the Remington --so the Rem. bullet is a little longer--PERSONALLY i REALLY LIKE THE REMS BUT ARE LEARY OF THEM AFTER THAT LONG SHOT-- did not mean to hit the caps-- I have tested the 200 H into wet mags at 315 long steps --no expansion -- not sure what that is = to a deer but I have found if it will not expand in paper I do not expect it in deer// also tired them at 1850 muzzle velocity no expansion-- so that is what sent me to the Rems in the first place-- I tend to use 225 Sierras  a lot but still I am interested in the Remingtons-- they just look cool  and have worked well except for that one time

The Remington 200gr Bullet (pointed ) was developed for the 350 Rem. Mag which pushes the bullet at over 2800fps. out of a 22in barrel,I'm sure the bullet would perform at 358 Win. Vel. also
