Small H&R .22LR 7-Shot Top-Break Revolver ID Help Request

Hello,

This being my 1st post ever I would like to say thanks to all of you that make this forum so crammed with knowledge. I've shot Handi rifles & Topper / Pardner shotguns since I was a kid in the 1970's, and still do today (.44, .444, .243, 7.62x39, 16ga, 20ga (x3) & a Huntsman). I discovered this forum yesterday and as a result got nothing done at work b/c I was so engaged in reading on the forum.

I recently acquired a small H&R .22LR revolver. It's a 7-shot top-break action and functions in single or double action. When using the double action I have to reset the trigger forward to shoot DA again. The serial number on the frame under the grip reads 3411, the bottom of the frame where the sling stud is reads "A3411" and on top of the barrel reads "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS COMPANY, WORCESTER, MASS., U.S.A., PAT., OCT. 4, 87, APR. 2, 95, APR. 7, 96." I tried searching the gun auctions to ID the model, maybe find some paperwork or a schematic as well as gather other info, but I haven't met with any success as of yet, so I thought I'd try here. It fits my 4 year old daughter's hand perfectly and we love shooting low velocity (500fps) .22LR's through it. The low velocity rounds work fine, but I'm wondering if it was designed for black powder. It is in excellent condition except for the sling stud that the previous owner had installed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

looks like that is an H&R Premier, discontinued before 1942, sounds like you need a trigger return spring, springs are available if you want to repair it.

Hi Rak55, Where are springs available from? I searched a bit online but never found anything. My five year old daughter consideres this hers. She does fine pushing the trigger forward after each shot, but I'd love to get that spring. Thanks, Brett

Fishteach that is a very nice example of a old pistol congrats. Nice piece of History as most are basically junk...certainly not Colt type history but very nice piece none the less. Kurt

It is, as rak55 posted, an H&R Premier - more specifically a 1st Model 2nd Variation,  made between 1901 and 1903(A letter code).  As such, it was made during H&R's black powder era (switch over to smokeless occured beginning in 1904 into 1905).
