Another 1" Bore Cannon
« on: August 26, 2007, 07:44:14 AM »
Another 1" Bore Cannon ., I found this one on eBay and could not let some un-appreciative scoundral take it away and keep in a closet for another coupla decades.  ;D ., I figured that would be wrong. I have my Brooks USA cannon in the photo for scale. (No-Powder-Can handy) this cannon is 11" long X 2 3/4 at the breach with a 1" bore . I believe the carriage is a walnut ., the previous owner cut the wood axels almost flush with the wheel so I had to get creative with my drill press also there was no elevation system or trunnion (mmmmmmm) caps..., so a few things to do .,  it needs lots of polishing ., and then a finish on the carriage.., i am looking forward to firing this one alongside my Brooks at the range.

nice looking cannon. should there be a warning on the wrapper? eating trunnion bars cause an addiction, or collecting cannons may cause one to eat trunnion bars? either way there is an addiction ;D

And you said you were not going to buy anymore cannons. Ahh the life of a pirate. What range lets you fire cannons Tropico?

thanks for not running up the bid Ed.
Terry C. the trunnion on this cannon is 3/4 diameter x 1" long.
I know it rusty barrels but the wife got a goodie., so it opened the door for me to bid on this little bronze !
rusty there is a local man the own a property just past our local power plant., he has a "shooters shed and a donation box"
and a path between the tress that's like a giant 1 lane bowling alley..., 100 ft wide x something like 1/4 mile deep with a slight up Hill for the length then a bag hill at the end.

Tropico, maybe you can send me a private email as to directions from I-5 to the location. Seems I will have to travel far to get away from the wimp counties to do any blasting, cripes I've own the 2/3 scale 1841 for over a year and still haven't made it roar, the cohern has been ready half that long, coarse if you want to keep it to yourself as well as the locals, I can understand.

Terry C. the trunnion on this cannon is 3/4 diameter x 1" long.

I have some pieces leftover but they are too big for a ¾" trunnion. Sorry.
