A friend had one; shot well, but the side plate tried to come off during one shooting session.  Locktite fixed that problem.  The grip seemed a little small for me, but it was reasonably accurate.  I would be careful with handloads; it's not as sturdy as a Ruger, but with care should last a long time.

I had one and it digested many heavy loads and was a good gun. No better or worse then any super blackhawk ive had. Only thing id look at anymore is availability of parts if it happened to break.

i just picked one up,and so far so good, but i've been holding loads below max.long run ican't tell you persomally, but this one was maid in 1974,that should say something about them. the only problem ,as mentionted earlier, may be getting parts.
good luck with your ruger. dan

And for you guys wanting to load for them, those guns were bull strong!  They were the basis for many a big bore conversion before they started building five shot cylinders for the Rugers.  It will do anything a Ruger will do.  44 Man

agreed 44 man they will take any load a ruger will as will an seville. John Linebaughs first conversion were on sevilles and the only reason he quit using them was parts availability.
